REPORTS

Lounge Manager:  Ribfest has been added to the sign to encourage attendance. Display frequency will be increased as we get closer to the event. Also, we are working with Dave on the monthly audits.

Auxiliary: No Report

SAL: Cruise Fest went well. The lottery license for the Ribfest has been received.

RCL: The parking lot for Dream Cruise was successful and raised money for the RCL. There was discussion on the proposed quarterly payment by the units to support the lounge. They requested more details on how the percentage paid by each unit was calculated. This was deferred until the Finance Officer returns. There was a question about the business plan for the lounge and there is also a new business plan in draft that will work with the lounge beverage and food audits.

Sea Cadets: They will provide banana pudding again for the Ribfest.

Finance: No Report

SR. Vice Commander: The membership updates are going well. The new Pull Tab machine is in place, and a system is set up to generate the required reports.

Jr. Vice Commander: No Report

Vice Commander: Reviewed the lounge audit. This was the second month that a complete audit has been completed. After the third month audit there should be enough data to review and to make appropriate changes.

Historian: No report

Judge Advocate: No report

Chaplin / Rifle Team: Our former Commander Tom Bustance has been in the hospital, but he is currently home and doing well. Contacted Sue Hawkins to see how she has been doing since the loss of Pete. Her grandson has moved in with her to help with the day-to-day chores. The Holiday Lights Parade application has been received. Any unit that wants to march in the parade should contact the Chaplain.

Sergeant at Arms: We have received two fire inspections that we have to respond to. Both contained requirements that we have to complete to remain in compliance. The Lounge kitchen fire suppression system is due for its 12-year hydrostatic test, and the lower hall kitchen requires some recalibration. The building sprinkler and standpipe system are due for their 5 years’ service. A motion was made by Jack Blanchard that funds not to exceed $4,000 be authorized to complete all of the maintenance required by Fire Systems of Michigan. Seconded by George Zivojnovity. Motion passed.

Two quotes have been received on the upgrade of the roof electrical system, still waiting for one more. When all three have been received they will be reviewed and a contractor will be selected. Former Jr Vice Commander Joe Griffith has agreed to help with the review. Joe is an electrician.

The punch list for the Gleason Hall kitchen Phase 1 project has been completed.

Service Officer: The Service Officer has a new telephone, the number is (734)278-9540. There are Oakland County veterans’ events that will continue to be added to the calendar. Any one with a VA card that has “service connected” under the picture is eligible to use the PX and Commissary.

Adjutant: Currently working Eric on membership.

Commander: Everything has been covered. Thanks for your participation.
